Suspense, love, money and murder...

Sudden Death at Lingfield Manor
Saturday 23 February 2013
7.00pm - bar open
7.30pm - prologue and dinner
Lingfield & Dormansland Community Centre
Sudden Death at Lingfield Manor will be performed for one night only at the Lingfield and Dormansland Community Centreon Saturday 23 February 2013, 7.30pm, to commence Fairtrade Fortnight. The murder mystery evening with dinner features a local cast of ‘wanabee’ thespians, including Parish Council Chairman Chris D ‘Avray and professional actor and local resident Jim Alexander (pictured right).
As the audience/teams take their places they soon discover that they are a ‘live audience’ at a 1950s radio recording of the murder mystery play Sudden Death at Lingfield Manor. After the heinous murder takes place the performers are interrogated by the diners/teams over a Fairtrade meal, before accusations and the dénouement is made, when the villain is revealed.
Chris said, ‘Normally at this time of year our Fairtrade group holds a Fairtrade Quiz, but we could do this later in the year, and so for a change I am pleased our regular quiz master, Paul Pirie, has agreed to stage a murder mystery dinner. The evening is a different way for teams to participate in a quiz as they interrogate the cast. Diners will still need to have their wits about them as they pick up clues throughout the evening. Above all I hope this will be a night of fun as teams will have a chance to engage fully in the interrogation of the cast and enjoy a lovely Fairtrade meal’.
Jim adds, ‘I am pleased to support a local event in such a way. Playing the part of a local jockey will be a little unusual but I am looking forward to an evening of twists and turns. I would encourage people to come along, solve the mystery and enjoy the fun’.
Tickets are now on sale at £10 from Lingfield and Dormansland Community Centre. Teams of eight people are ideal or just come on the night and make up a team. Bar opens at 7.00pm!
