
Opening times
The IT Suite is open Mondays,
Tuesdays, Wednesdays (except the 4th Wednesday each month) and
Fridays
from 9am to 3.30pm and on Thursdays from 12noon to 3.30pm.
Training
'One to One' training is available
for beginner to intermediate level. Topics include File
Management, Internet and Email,
word processing using Microsoft
Word, spread sheets using Excel, database using Access,
presentations using
PowerPoint
Equipment
The IT Suite is equipped four PCs all with Microsoft XP Home
with broadband access to the Internet with shared access to a
scanner and printer. One PC has a CD writer.
There is also a connection for
visitors own lap top computers.

Rules
for the use of
Computers and Internet
The following
are not permitted:

Altering
computer settings, installing any software, bypassing
security measures in place, gaining unauthorised access to
any computer systems or disrupting a service;

Use of own
Floppy Disks, CDs, DVDs or USB Flash Drives without the
prior specific approval of an IT Trainer or Centre Manager.

Downloading
any type of executable program including games, or knowingly
downloading viruses or opening unknown email attachments.

Downloading,
printing, displaying, accessing or trying to access any
obscene or offensive materials or information
likely to be
harmful to others.

Misuse of
email including use of offensive language and mail forging,
sending mail giving the impression that it is originating
from someone other than the user.

Disclosure
of confidential information or personal details of others.
-
Gambling.
-
Uploading
any information, web pages or files to a web site without
the prior specific approval of an IT Trainer or Centre
Manager.

Use of Chat
Rooms without the prior specific approval of an IT Trainer
or Centre Manager.

Violation of
copyright laws, republishing material from the Internet that
would breach the owner’s copyright.
Failure to comply with any of the
above conditions may result in the service being withdrawn from
the user and further
action by the Community Centre to
inform the appropriate authorities and recover any losses.
