The Board of Lingfield & Dormansland Community Centre is made up of local volunteers, many of whom have been involved with the centre from when it was founded in 1998.
Ian Jones – Chairman
Ian is a retired civil servant with his final position being Director – Office of Manpower Economics. Involved in several local organisations, Ian is Trustee of the William Buckwell Almshouses, Chairman to the RH7 History Group, Chairman of Pennies from Heaven Distribution Limited and was recently elected Chairman of LDCC in June 2015. A Lingfield resident since 1991, Ian is married to Vivien, a Lingfield Parish councillor and they have two sons who have both been educated locally.
Tim Pool – Finance Director
Tim has been a Lingfield resident for over thirty years. Following a career as an accountant he has been involved with a number of local charities and has been Financial Director at the LDCC since 2000. Interests include travel, wine and walking.
Peter Francis – Company Secretary
Peter has lived in Lingfield for 44 years, close to the Community Centre. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, his working life was spent with KPMG, then with a multinational industrial group. Peter is now retired but involved with various local organisations, including the Community Centre since its formation in 1998.
Sally Cole – Director
Sally has lived in Lingfield since 1978 and has been a Director of the Community Centre since it was set up in 1998. She has been instrumental in setting up and running the film club, Flix in the Stix, which has become a popular monthly event at LDCC. Sally is also on the management committee of Lingfield Nature Reserves, a member of the Walking for Health Group and Lingfield WI, a Meals on Wheels volunteer and sings with a local choir.
Neville Harrison – Director
Born in Oxford in1939, Neville is married to Jackie with two children and lived in Dormansland since 1983. He is a Dormansland Parish Councillor and assists with East Grinstead Talking News. A retired Chartered Civil Engineer (FICE) he now assists LDCC with advice on building projects and maintenance. Neville’s hobbies include cricket (retired) golf and DIY.
Richard Holroyd – Director
Richard has been a Lingfield resident for over 30 years and is a retired bank executive, now running his own book dealing business. His voluntary work locally includes Lingfield Parish Church, where he has twice been churchwarden, Meals on Wheels delivery, and Tandridge Community Fund, as a panel member. With the Community Centre Richard arranges the Pop-Up Theatre events. Richard is married with 2 sons and 6 grandchildren.
Amanda Lowy – Director
Amanda has been a Director at LDCC for 10 years. A resident of Lingfield, she is involved with several groups in the village and is a Governor of Lingfield Primary School.
Paul Pirie – Director
With over 20 years senior management expertise and experience in the charity sector, Paul helps promote the Community Centre and the various activities that take place week by week. As well as quiz master and chair of the Fairtrade group in the village, Paul also works with the small team who manage our Flix in the Stix film club. Married to Heather a school teacher in the village, they have two children Megan and Eve.
Sara Watson – Director
Sara has lived in the area for 34 years. She joined the Community Centre board in 2015 following the merger with Lingfield Day Centre. Sara helps co-ordinate the highly successful Meals on Wheels service which provides freshly cooked meals to the elderly residents of Lingfield, Dormansland and Crowhurst.
