1.  DRAWING AND PAINTING

Courses are open to all abilities and covers all mediums

2.  LINGFIELD SCRIBES

  • The aim is to bring the art and enjoyment of calligraphy to everyone

    of all standards from the novice to the more experienced practitioner

    Lingfield Scribes offer students of all levels the traditional styles based upon

    fifteen centuries of manuscripts and letter carving and to employ these

    scripts in projects, using different media, and illumination and gold leaf.
    Also modern scripts, such as Legend and Neuland that will enable students to make their work reflect

    contemporary ideas. Students have expressed their expanding appreciation of all the lettering used nowadays,

    as a result of learning calligraphic styles.

    7.  GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS & GAMANON
    Weekly on Thursdays: 8pm to 10pm
    Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who have joined together to do something about their
    own gambling problem and to help other compulsive gamblers do the same.
    Gam-Anon is a fellowship of men and women who are husbands, wives, relatives or, close friends who have
    been affected by the gambling problem. If you are seeking a solution for living with this problem, we would
    like you to feel that we understand as perhaps few can.

    8.  ALANON & ALATEEN FAMILY GROUPS

    Weekly on Tuesdays at 8pm

    Alanon is a network of self-help groups for the family and friends of alcoholics.  Members share their

    experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.
    Alanon is based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous; it is

    non-professional, self-supporting, non-religious, non-political and multi-racial.

    Alateen is for younger members from 12 to 17 years of age, who are also entitled to attend Alanon Meetings. 

    Two screened Alanon members provide stability and guidance at Alateen Meetings.

    danced on television, and has been involved in various productions, following graduating from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Chantelle is a qualified dance teacher, and all students will have the opportunity to take

    RAD and IDTA dance examinationss.

    21.  EAST SURREY FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY

    The Research Bureau is open for enquiries on the 2nd Saturday of the

    Meetings are held on the the 4th Wednesday of the month from 10am to 2pm

    22. THE RH7 HISTORY GROUP

    The RH7 History Group established in 1999 to encourage and assist the

    growing interest in local history. As its name suggests it encompasses Lingfield,

    Blindley Heath, Crowhurst, Dormansland, Crowhurst  and adjoining areas such as

    Baldwins Hill and South Godstone.

    Membership subscriptions are £10 single or £12 joint (living at the same address)

    There is a charge of £2.50 for visitors to our meetings  RH7's meetings are bi-monthly on Mondays at 7.30pm for 8pm.

    31.   WALKING FOR HEALTH - LINGFIELD BYWAYS

    Monday mornings starting at 10.15am and

    finishing for coffee in the Community Centre. 

    Two walks are available:

    ²  one of 1.5 miles ; 

    ²  the other a longer walk of 2 to 3.5 miles.

    Both walks are over relatively flat terrain are supervised by fully-trained

    Volunteer Walk Leaders. We don't go over stiles and you go at your own pace.

    Its an opportunity to make new friends and get healthy. You don't need expensive

     walking boots, but it can get muddy, so wear sensible footwear and bring a

    waterproof or a brolly.  Pick up a leaflet at the Community Centre or at the Public Library.

    Pole Fitness Beginner Level Class

    Monday evenings 8pm to 9pm.
    A fun, yet extremely effective, full body workout that burns calories whilst toning the thighs, arms,

    abdominals and buttocks (including muscles you never knew you had)!
    Participants will learn a wide range of spins, transitions and inverts that aim to improve

    co-ordination, leaving you fitter, stronger and more flexible. But most of all, increasing self esteem.
