Lingfield Eco Awareness Day Exhibition and Conference In association with ![]() Lingfield Parish Council and Lingfield & Dormansland Community Centre ![]() at the Lingfield & Dormansland Community Centre, Lingfield Day Centre & Victoria Club To be opened by Peter Ainsworth MP in the Community Centre car park on 9th June at 10.30am admission is free and refreshments will be available
The aim of Lingfield Eco Awareness Day is to give local people practical help, advice and information as well as show casing some of the best products around. Supporting the exhibition will be a series of talks further illustrating how local people can make a difference. Lingfield is a vibrant community, with an amazingly active Community Centre. It recently won Surrey Village of the Year and is a Fairtrade certified area. ‘Lingfield Eco Awareness Day’ is intended to increase people’s awareness of how they can help reduce their carbon footprint. ‘Reduce, recycle and reuse’. Lingfield is prime commuter-belt country and has a discerning population where the strength of the green pound is high.
Peter Ainsworth our MP for East Surrey who lives in the village, will be opening the event in conjunction with the Parish Council. Peter is the conservative Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and has given valuable support to the steering group. Local Schools have been invited and there will be exhibits to excite, inform and involve youngsters. Many well know organisations and businesses will be exhibiting.
